Tämä virtuaalikätkö esittelee Helsingin keskustan keskeisiä tapahtumapaikkoja vuosien 1944 ja 1945 asekätkentätapauksen tiimoilta. Seuraa tarinaa kertojan jalanjäljissä ja aisti pääkaupungin tunnelmaa juuri jatkosodan virallisen päättymisen aikoihin! Kierros suositellaan tehtäväksi kävellen. Matkaa kertyy noin 1,3km ja aikaa kannattaa varata noin 45 minuuttia.
Tarina alkaa kätkön julkaistuista koordinaateista ja se on suunniteltu seurattavaksi internetyhteydellä varustetulla mobiililaitteella (älypuhelin tai tabletti). Matkan varrella tarinan kertoja ottaa kolme valokuvaa, joihin hän asettaa nimimerkkinsä näkyviin. Näistä sijainneista tulee myös kätköä suorittavan ottaa vastaavat valokuvat ja liittää ne logiinsa. Nämä kolme valokuvaa ovat hyväksytyn loggauksen edellytys. Kätköilijän nimimerkin tulee näkyä kaikissa kuvissa. Tarinassa saattaa tulla vastaan myös muita tehtäviä tai kysymyksiä. Niiden tarkoitus on kuitenkin vain kuljettaa kertomusta eteenpäin, eikä vastauksia tarvitse taltioida myöhempää käyttöä varten.
Jotta tarinan seuraaminen olisi mahdollista niillekin joilla ei ole internetyhteyttä käytettävissään, on käsikirjoituksesta saatavilla myös PDF-versio etukäteen tulostettavaksi. Etukäteen ladattava käsikirjoitus on pääosin identtinen internetyhteydellä seurattavan tarinan kanssa. Verkkoversioon on kuitenkin sisällytetty joitakin matkantekoa elävöittäviä ja sujuvoittavia asioita, joita käsikirjoituksesta puuttuu. Käsikirjoitusversiota ei suositellakaan käytettäväksi mikäli verkkoversion käyttö vain on mahdollista.
Mukaan kierrokselle tarvitaan seuraavat asiat:
- Älylaite internetyhteydellä TAI etukäteen tulostettu käsikirjoitus PDF-muodossa.
- Kamera.
- Lappu tai muu esine (esimerkiksi älypuhelin), jossa näkyy kätköilijän nimimerkki.
Kuljettuaan tarinan viitoittaman matkan ja suoritettuaan siinä ohjeistetut tehtävät, saa viimeisillä sivulla vielä hieman lisää tietoa aihepiiristä sekä loppusanoissa yksityiskohtaiset ohjeet kätkön loggaamiseksi. This virtual cache introduces some central locations in Helsinki city center related to the Weapons Cache Case of 1944 and 1945. Walk in the footsteps of the narrator and sense the atmosphere in the Finnish capital immediately after the Continuation War has officially ended! It is recommended to take the tour on foot. The distance is approximately 1.3 kilometers and takes around 45 minutes to complete.
The story begins from the published coordinates and is meant to be followed using a smart device with internet connection (a phone or a tablet). As the story advances the narrator will take three photographs of specific objects, including a note with his code name in the pictures. The cacher following in his footsteps must also take these photos. These three photos are the requirement to log this cache. The cacher’s geocaching name needs to be visible in all three photos. There might be additional tasks or questions along the road but the purpose of those is only to advance the story. There is no need to record any answers for later use.
Since not everybody will be able to access the internet while on the move there is also a PDF version of the script available that can be downloaded and printed out in advance. The script is identical with the online version for the most part but there are some helpful details that have been left out. Therefore it is recommended to use the online version if at all possible.
Before embarking on the tour the following items are needed:
- A smart device with internet connection OR the PDF version of the script.
- A camera.
- A note or other object (for example a smartphone) with the geocacher’s nickname visible on it.
Upon completing the storyline and the related tasks some additional information will be provided, as well as detailed instructions for logging the cache. The reference material is available as a separate link for those who are interested in learning more about the subject. Unfortunately some of the references are available only in Finnish. English versions of the articles have been provided when possible. The story also lists all references used on any individual page. Enjoy the tour!
