Geocache Description:

Welcome to Sea-Tac Airport-- the gateway to the Pacific Northwest, home of beautiful mountains, lush greenery, sparkling bodies of water, and of course -- fish.

A make-shift Seattle Airport began in 1944 with the help the Port of Seattle after the US Military took over Boeing Field during WWII, but the official birthday of the airport is Sea-Tac’s dedication day -- July 9, 1949. This grand event drew more than 30,000 people to celebrate the construction of a modern new administration building, passenger terminal, and the official naming of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. After many renovations and building projects over the years, by 2017 Sea-Tac Airport had grown to be the 31st busiest airport in the world and the 9th busiest in the United States and is still managed by the Port of Seattle, which gave their kind permission for this cache placement.

There are 3 ways to claim this cache: First, you will need to obtain a piece of paper or paper facsimile, write the words "I Love Geocaching" or "I [heart] Geocaching" and the date, then post a log and attach one photo of:

1. The I Love Geocaching dated paper near one of the fish traveling across the floor in Councourse B in the art piece: "Flying Fish" by Judith and Daniel Caldwell. Option #1 coords. (Bonus points if said fish is airport-themed)

2.(Because of ongoing construction option 2 has been updated as of 10/6/2022 -coords are within 50 feet of previous set) The I Love Geocaching dated paper and include in the background either the 3 “waffle” fish hanging from the ceiling near the Lucky Louie Fish Shack OR the giant “Lucky Louie” Fishing lure. Select Option #2 coords.

3. If unable to get to one of the two fish-themed pieces above, you will need to add to your I Love Geocaching dated paper your own drawing of a fish -- then go to coords for option #3 and take a picture of your dated, I Love Geocaching fish drawing with either the "Voyager Project Plane" or the "American Eaglerock" in the background (This option is outside airport security and does not require a boarding pass) .

Please enjoy this cache -- and if you are not already a resident, do enjoy your visit to the Seattle Area!!
