When the Sacramento International Airport Terminal B was being constructed, it had a budget of $6 million for public art and was Sacramento’s single largest investment in public art at that time. This Virtual is about the most well-known artwork that was part of the project.

Leap, the most iconic art piece at the airport is a large 56-foot long, 10,000-pound, red rabbit made of steel and glass-coated aluminum in Sacramento International Airport's Terminal B. The sculpture actually consists of 2 pieces. The other part is a granite suitcase with a vortex hole on the baggage claim floor.

The artist, Lawrence Argent, stated that the rabbit is situated to look as though it has just leapt through the glass ceiling and is heading into the vortex of a granite suitcase positioned below it in the baggage claim floor.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are using the Geocaching App to post a photo then be aware that it does not always work! I do review all logs for photos and will contact you if your log does not have an accompanying photo.
