Geocache Description:

This 10 mile coastal path leads all the way around Alderney. It is marked by 36 signs that give the distance to Braye in either direction. These markers contain letters that can be collected on a logging sheet that is available at the tourist information in Victoria Street, the Braye Beach Hotel and the camping site.

This cache can be done easily in a day, or in several days. The order does not matter. It is recommended that you walk the whole route as the hike is well worth it and passes along all coastal forts. Expect fantastic views. There are also some very nice other caches along the route. Most parts of this route can be done by bike, but the slopes near Fort Clonque, parts of the south coast and around Fort Albert are fairly steep sloping.

The given coordinates are at the first marker, but you can start everywhere you like.

Food can be found in Braye, a restaurant near marker 17 (very limited kitchen hours) and at the camp site near marker 30.

In order to log this cache you need to fulfil the following requirements:

  • send me an email with the following information:
  • words on the sign near marker 6
  • distances to Braye on marker 14
  • the number of large boulders at marker 19
  • the letter on marker 25
  • the letter on marker 34
  • Post a photo of yourself or your GPS (no need to show your head) with marker number 8. Please don't post any photos showing other markers!

Please feel free to post photos of your favourite locations along this hike

I will change the logging tasks if necessary, e.g. if a marker or item vanishes.
