Geocache Description:

The Pledge of Allegiance. We all learned this in school as we were growing up. Francis Bellamy, a socialist minister, is the author of the original version of the pledge we use today. He was born here in Mount Morris, NY. When he penned the original version of the pledge he had hopes that it would be used by citizens in any country. The pledge has undergone a number of changes over the years to become what it is now.

All you need to do to claim this virtual is to do two things:

  • Take a picture of yourself with the historical marker and flag in the background. If you are camera shy, feel free to simply take a picture with your hand in the "thumbs up" position to prevent logging without visiting.
  • Next, answer these two questions. What are the words to the original pledge as written by Francis Bellamy (you will need to look this up on the internet)? What is the house number of Francis Bellamy's birthplace? Please email or message me the answers.

Please, please, please don't log this without posting the picture and emailing me the answers. Found it logs without required answers will be deleted without notice. If you get a deleted note, please feel free to log again when you have provided the virtual requirements.
