Prezidentský palác
Palác dal postaviť v roku 1760 gróf Anton Grasalkovič (Grassalkovich), advokát, neskôr predseda Uhorskej kráľovskej komory. Palác stál pôvodne na voľnom priestranstve pred vtedy ešte opevneným mestom. Od 50. rokov 20. storočia ho využívali deti a mládež Bratislavy na svoju záujmovú činnosť pod názvom Ústredný dom pionierov a mládeže Klementa Gottwalda. V dnešnej dobe je Grasalkovičov palác známy najmä pod názvom Prezidentský palác, keďže sa po rekonštrukcii v roku 1996 stal sídlom prezidenta Slovenskej republiky. Prezident Michal Kováč prevzal symbolický kľúč od paláca 30. septembra 1996.
Prezidentská záhrada
Súčasťou paláca je rozsiahla záhrada upravená vo francúzskom štýle, ktorá nadväzuje na rozsiahlu záhradu bývalého letného arcibiskupského paláca, ktorý je dnes sídlom Úradu vlády SR. Koncom 90. rokov 20. storočia prebehla rozsiahla rekonštrukcia záhrady, ktorá do veľkej miery prinavrátila pôvodný výzor parku. V roku 1978 tu bola osadená fontána Radosť zo života. Začiatkom 90-tych rokov 20. storočia bola v záhrade umiestnená jazdecká socha Márie Terézie, ktorá bola pôvodne súčasťou výzdoby Veľprepoštského paláca v Nitre.
Prezidenti Slovenskej republiky
Po vzniku Slovenskej republiky 1.1.1993 bol prezident volený Národnou radou Slovenskej republiky. Prvým prezidentom bol 15.2.1993 zvolený Michal Kováč. Pred skončením jeho volebného obdobia nebol parlament schopný zvoliť nového prezidenta, takže Slovensko bolo vyše roka bez prezidenta. Jeho právomoci v zmysle Ústavy prešli na vtedajšieho predsedu vlády Vladimíra Mečiara a predsedu parlamentu Ivana Gašparoviča. Po parlamentných voľbách v roku 1998 bola uzákonená priama voľba prezidenta, ktorá je platná aj v súčasnosti. Prvým priamo zvoleným prezidentom bol Rudolf Schuster.

Aleja prezidentov
Aleju prezidentov v záhrade založil druhý prezident SR, Rudolf Schuster. Za vzor mu poslúžila guvernérska záhrada v Ottawe, kde sadia stromčeky hlavy štátov od roku 1906. Po porade so záhradnými architektami sa rozhodlo, že z východnej strany záhrady sa budú sadiť duby a zo západnej strany gaštany.
Prvý dub zasadil Rudolf Schuster 5. 9. 1999, druhý hneď o deň neskôr maďarský prezident Árpád Gönc. Rad dokončil švajčiarsky prezident Kaspar Villiger 16. 12. 2002.
Rad gaštanov začal sadiť český prezident Václav Klaus 18. 3. 2003. Posledný gaštan zasadil ešte toho roku prezident Kirgizska Askar Akajevič Akajev. Prezident Ivan Gašparovič v tejto tradícii sadenia stromov nepokračoval, takže posledných osem gaštanov vysadili záhradníci.
Prístup do záhrady
Otváracie hodiny záhrady sú závislé od ročného obdobia. Navštíviť ju môžete každý deň:
- od októbra do marca od 9:00 do 18:00
- od apríla do septembra od 8:00 do 21:00.
Do záhrady je zakázaný vjazd s bicyklom a vstup so psom. V objekte záhrady je zakázané fajčenie.
Podmienky logovania
- Na publikovaných súradniciach (pri soche Márie Terézie) odfoť seba mávajúceho prezidentovi alebo svojej ruky s prezidentským palácom v pozadí.
- V aleji prezidentov nájdi strom zasadený predstaviteľom tvojej krajiny. Odfoť seba, svoju ruku, prípadne svoj osobný predmet v pozadí s tabuľou pri tomto strome.
- Obe fotky prilož k svojmu logu najneskôr do 24 hodín od zalogovania.
Upozornenia
- Logy, nespĺňajúce vyššie uvedené podmienky, budú vymazané bez varovania. Ak potrebuješ zalogovať svoj nález, hoci plánuješ uploadovať obrázky neskôr, zaloguj poznámkou (Write Note).
- Logy spred dátumu publikácie kešky nie sú povolené a budú zmazané.

Presidential Palace
The palace was built in 1760 by Count Anton Grassalkovich, a lawyer, later the President of the Hungarian Royal Chamber. The palace was originally in the open space before the fortified city. Since the 1950s, children and youth of Bratislava have been using it for their interest activities as of the Klement Gottwald' Central House of Pioneers and Youth. Nowadays, the Grassalkovich Palace is known especially as the Presidential Palace, since it was rebuilt in 1996 and became the seat of the President of the Slovak Republic. President Michal Kováč took over the symbolic key from the palace on September 30, 1996.
Presidential Garden
A large, French-style garden that follows the extensive garden of the former summer Archbishop's Palace is a part of the palace,. At the end of the 1990s, extensive garden reconstruction took place, largely bringing the original outlook of the park. In 1978, the Fountain of Life was placed here. The Maria Theresa riding statue which was originally part of the decoration of the Great Palace in Nitra was placed in the garden in the beginning of 90's .
Presidents of Slovak Republic
After the establishment of the Slovak Republic on 1 January 1993, the President was elected by the Slovak Parliament. The first president was elected Michal Kováč on 15 February 1993. Before the end of his period, the parliament was unable to elect a new president, so Slovakia was without a president for more than a year. His powers have passed to the then Prime Minister, Vladimir Meciar, and to Ivan Gašparovič, Speaker of Parliament. After the parliamentary elections in 1998, the direct election of the President was enacted, which is still valid today. The first directly elected president was Rudolf Schuster.

Alley of Presidents
Presidents alley in the garden has been established by the second Slovak President Rudolf Schuster. After consulting the garden architects, it was decided to plant oaks from the east side of the garden, and of the chestnut trees on the west side.
The first oak was planted by Rudolf Schuster on September 5, 1999, the next one on the next day by Hungarian President Árpád Gönc. The row was completed by the Swiss President Kaspar Villiger on December 16, 2002.
The President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Klaus, started up a the series of chestnut trees on 18 March 2003. The last chestnut tree was planted by the President of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akayevich Akayev. The next president Ivan Gašparovič did not continue in this tradition of tree planting, so the last eight chestnut trees were planted by the gardeners.
Access to the Garden
The opening hours of the garden depend on the season. You can visit it every day:
- from October till March from 09:00 to 18:00
- from Apri till September from 08:00 to 21:00.
It is not allowed to ride a bike and to enter the garden with a dog. Smoking is prohibited in the garden.
Logging conditions
- At the published coordinates take a picture of you waving to the pesident or your hand with the Presidential palace in the background.
- Find the tree planted by the representative of your country in the Alley of Presidents. There are trees planted by the representatives of these countries: Algeria, Angola, Armenia, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and Yugoslavia. If you cannot find it choose the tree planted by the country representative of your choice. Take a picture of you, your hand or your sigitem with the inscription next to the chosen tree in the background.
- Attach both pictures to your log within 24 hours from logging.
Warning
- Logs that do not meet the above mentioned conditions will be deleted without notice. If you still need to log your find intending to upload the pictures later, please, use Write Note.
- Logs prior to the cache publication date are not allowed and will be deleted.
