Geocache Description:

The Glengarry Viewpoint on the road to Skye is remarkable for its perspective of Loch Garry which, from this angle, takes the shape of Scotland.

Loch Garry is 11km long and 50m deep, it provides water to the hydro-electric power station at Invergarry via a tunnel from the dam at its east end. It is designated a SSSI for its birdlife, providing nesting areas for Great Northern Divers and the rare Common Scoter.

The orientation plaque at the viewpoint has long since been lost from its stone base, to claim this simple Virtual take a photo of your GPS, one of your caching team or something else entirely, on top of the marker base and upload it with your log.
