Geocache Description:

The story begins in 1973 in Moscow, where the engineer Aleksandr Timofeev is working on a time machine in his apartment. By accident, he sends Ivan Vasilevich Bunsha, a superintendent of his apartment building, and George Miloslavsky, a small-time burglar, back into the time of tsar Ivan IV "The Terrible" (Wikipedia)

It is one of the best Soviet comedies: its humor sounds a little bit "old school" nowadays, but it still makes Russian-speaking audience laugh for almost half a century already. Several years ago "Mosfilm" (the studio that had produced the movie) made it officially available on YouTube with English, Spanish, German, Portugese and French subtitles, so many cinema-fans all over the world got an opportunity to get acquainted with this prominent piece of Soviet cinema art:

The goal of this cache is to encourage you to watch the movie (or at least a small part of it), and to show you the location where the story happened and was filmed: yes, Shurik lived and carried out his experiments in this particular huge building not far from Tretyakovskaya and Novokuznetskaya metro stations.

And to log your visit you need to pass through the following steps:

- watch the movie and pay attention to "a piece of graffiti" shown at 00:04:55 - 00:05:10

- try to make your own copy of "the piece of graffiti" on a sheet of paper

- visit GZ and take a picture that shows both your copy of "the piece of graffiti" and GZ surroundings to prove your visit (GZ pinpoints the exact location of this episode in the movie); you do not need to be present on the picture, and please do not write anything on the wall: geocaching is not about making damage to the places we visit, right? :)

- attach the picture to you log :)

I would also greatly appreciate if you write what other Soviet movies you have watched, or mention any movies of the country you are from that are worth watching :)

Happy caching and watching the movie! I hope you enjoy both :)

P.P.S.

The cache shows only "the modern" locations of the movie. If you'd like to see where Ivan Vasilevich Bunsha's adventures took place in the XVI century, you should visit Rostov Kremlin.
