The experienced among us know that once the sun goes down, dark spirits come out and haunt the trails. They lurk behind trees and under bushes, watching and waiting to spread their evil to whomever dares come along. They enlist the help of the creatures of the night: the bats, the rats, the beasts that scurry and howl... They turn our parks into a sinister, spine-chilling netherworld. They are especially active during the last quarter of the moon's cycle, and they focus their efforts on particularly noteworthy places and special objects.That puts our City of Richmond GeoTour caches at particular risk.
Don't believe it? We challenge you to TEST YOUR DISBELIEF on Friday the 13th of October at the Richmond Nature Park. Come see for yourself what the evil spirits do to our parks and to our very special caches during the night. We sit snug in our homes, innocently creating camouflage, solving puzzles, or listening to podcasts, while outside there is mayhem and madness...

COME PREPARED!
~This is a mostly outdoor event and will run rain or shine. It's October. You know the drill.
~ Parking is limited. Carpool if you can! If the parking lot is full, you will have to park on No. 5 Rd. Please be extremely careful crossing the roads after dark!!
~ You will be looking for the five existing GeoTour caches in this park to see what happens to them after dark. Please have them loaded in your GPSr or your phone, whether you’ve found them already or not.
~You'll need a light. If you have a UV flashlight, so much the better!
~ Donations to this and to future MVG events will be gratefully accepted at the door.
~ If you show up early, please expect to wait in the parking lot. No one will be admitted to the park before 6:50 p.m.
*** PARENTS PLEASE NOTE*** This event is geared towards adults, and is meant to startle and frighten. You know your children best, so it is up to you to decide whether this is an appropriate event for them.
