Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Spout Springs Learners' geocache! I'm Mr. Chapman and my class made this geocache to learn about latitude, longitude, and the GPS system in 3rd grade.

Feel free to take one item and replace it with an item of your own of equal or greater value. This is an easy park n' grab cache with lots of goodies! Also, there will be two trackables placed for the first few to find it. If you take a travel bug, we ask that you do not keep it long. Please take it to a new cache and leave it for others to help travel along. The cache is located near the front entrance to Sterling on the Lake, a "Super Seminole Sponsor" for Spout Springs School of Enrichment. We have a large portion of our students that live in Sterling on the Lake. We wanted to make this geocache a fun, learning opportunity for our students and anyone who wants to participate! Take the learning path and have fun with this geocache. Also, if you have time, check out the Spout Springs Library. There is a "Friends Cafe" inside that serves food, coffee, drinks, and snacks!

Please keep the comments kid-friendly as we will read the comments and logs to the class!

There is a lock on the cache in which you will need to do some research. To find the password to the lock, you combine the first two digits of the latitude and the first two digits of the longitude for the cache, in that order.
(Hint: Lines of Latitude are measure in degrees N and S. Lines of Longitude are measured in degrees E and W.)

Please put the geocache back where you found it and reset the lock by messing up the numbers. We hope you enjoyed this cache! -Mr. Chapman's 3rd Grade Class
