Geocache Description:

A cache at the beginning of the Elk River in Elk Lakes Provincial Park – look inside the cache to learn more about this incredible spot! 


This cache takes you to Elk Lakes Provincial Park overlooking the incredible glaciers from which the Elk River originates. Camping, waterfalls, hiking and incredible sights – what more could you ask for from this beautiful park? Don’t forget to read the information card in the cache box and learn a bit about the origins of the Elk River!

The cache is medium sized and in a clear Tupperware container. In the cache you will find an information card, stickers, pencils, and a logbook, but you might want to bring a piece of paper to write some things down!

This geocache is part of a series of geocaches that will take you along the Elk River; from where it begins frozen in glaciers, high up at Elk Lakes Provincial Park, to it's final destination at Lake Koocanusa. There are many beautiful and significant sites that you will visit along this vibrant ribbon of life as it meanders through the Elk Valley, including historical remnants, biological wonders, and stunning scenery. Come explore the Elk River!
