El Lugar
La Quebrada de Humahuaca pertenece a la provincia geológica denominada cordillera oriental.
El paisaje que se observa, entre otros lugares, en Maimará, se originó hace varios millones de años y está conformado por rocas pertenecientes a distintos ambientes geográficos y de diferentes edades geológicas.
La secuencia reconocida como "Paleta del Pintor" corresponde a areniscas calcáreas y calizas de edad Cretácica (71 m.a.), de colores amarillentos. Estas rocas fueron depositadas en un ambiente marino costero con intensa actividad de algas. La presencia de dinosaurios en esta época dentro del sector quedó evidenciada por las pisadas fósiles (icnitas) encontradas.
En el área inferior de la sierra se ubican depósitos constituidos por sedimentos continentales, areniscas y conglomerados de coloraciones claras del Neógeno (5,1, a 1,8 m.a.).
Culminan la secuencia depósitos recientes de edad cuaternaria conformados por abanicos actuales, depósitos aluviales y terrazas correspondientes al Río Grande principalmente.

En Argentina el Geocaching todavía no es tan popular como en otros países, y es común que los geomuggles roben los cachés por simple diversión. Por lo tanto, busca y recoge el cache cuando nadie esté mirando, siempre intenta pasar desapercibido. y luego deja el caché tal y como lo hayas encontrado!
