Suomen pisin pulkkamäki löytyy Saariselältä. Allirinteenä tunnettu pulkkareitti alkaa Kaunispää-tunturin huipulta, 438 metrin korkeudelta merenpinnasta mitattuna. Matka Kaunispäälle vie aikansa, mutta se kannattaa. Kunnon vauhtiin päästyään pulkka liukuu kevyesti koko puista raivatun ja hyvin hoidetun rinteen.
Vielä aiemmin pulkkamäen pituus oli 1 200 metriä, mutta vuonna 2016 rinteeseen raivattiin myös hurjasti mutkitteleva välireitti, joka vie laskijan takaisin hiihtohisseille. Välireitti lähtee noin puoliväissä tien ylittävältä betonisillallalta ja alkaa jyrkällä laskulla. Reitti toi mukanaan 600 metriä lisää pituutta, jolloin kokonaispituudeksi tuli 1 800 metriä. Joidenkin paikallisten mukaan kyseessä voi olla myös koko Euroopan pisin pulkkamäki.
The longest toboggan downhill ride of Finland is located at Kaunispää in Saariselkä. The toboggan route is also called the Alli slope and it starts from the top of Kaunispää, 438 m from the the sea level. A walk to the top takes a time, but it's worth it. After a good start, the sledge slides lightly from the top to the well-groomed and well groomed slope. Earlier the lenght of the toboggan slope was "only" 1200 m but on 2016 the slope was modified and it's now 1800 metres long. Most precipitous part of the slope starts from the concrete bridge and it winds through the rest of to slope to the ski lifts.
