Local legend says the infamous traitor used this spot to watch for his English spy masters. If so, it would have given him a spendid vantage point, his headquarters was just below in the Beverly Robinson House. I think this would have been too steep for the crippled warrior. Enter off Rt 9D where it says "Wing and Wing" (41 22.147 73 55.862). Pause to check out the vista as you climb up the field, of the river valley with Westpoint looming in the background.
The cache is a 30 cal ammo can filled with the usual goodies. It is well hidden. Make sure you don't step on any of the Prickly Pear Cacti. This cache now has a NYS Office of Parks and Recreation Cache Permit (#HH0501) issued 3/2/05 by William Bauman, the park superintendent.
