Luke has a problem...
Luke designed 5 new geocoins for the upcoming GeoCoinFest Europe 2017 mega event and had a proof version minted of every type. The proofs were perfect and even had their own registered tracking number on it. He wanted to keep these proofs private in his collection and only be discovered by geocachers who saw them in person.
Somehow these pre-production coins got lost... stolen or just mislaid?
This is his catch-22:
- The pre-production proofs can not be distinguished from the production run, but for their unique tracking code.
- If someone knows the tracking codes he can always discover the geocoins at http://www.geocaching.com/track/.
- To keep them private he only wants to share the codes with trusted geocachers that will not share the codes with others.
- But now that they are lost he needs to go public to have a chance of returning them to his collection.
- But by making them public he can not be sure that someone who logs his coin is a trustworthy geocacher who truly found his trackable or is just someone who logs the public code.
aaarrrrggghhhhh....
He thinks he can beat this catch-22 by commissioning Dani+Iris to program this Wherigo cartridge.
It implements a clever device to track down the lost coins, share the codes with the trusted geocacher who finds them and who can then discover them but won't share the codes and return the originals to his private collection.
Are you that trusted geocacher?
- His catch? Luke will try to know your true character by linking the Wherigo found logs with the trackbable discovered logs.
- Your catch? Don't fall for the tricks of the hackers collective H0rk0s M3nd0z@ who want to get the coins at any price and somewhere got mixed up in an adventure with Dani+Iris...

Luc ontwierp 5 nieuwe geocoins voor het nakende GeoCoinFest Europe 2017 mega event en had een proefversie laten maken van elk type. De proefversies waren perfect en hadden zelfs hun eigen geldige trackingnummer. Hij wou natuurlijk die unieke proefversies houden voor zijn eigen verzameling en dat ze enkel discovered konden worden door geocachers die hij ze liet zien.
Op 1 of andere manier geraakten die proefversies verloren... gestolen of gewoon zoek geraakt?
Dit is zijn catch-22:
- De proefversies kunnen buiten hun unieke trackingnummer niet onderscheiden worden van de gewone productieversies.
- Als iemand de trackingnummers kent, kan hij die altijd discoveren op http://www.geocaching.com/track/.
- Om ze prive te houden wil hij de trackingnummers alleen doorgeven aan betrouwbare geocachers die niet zomaar de codes aan anderen gaan doorgeven.
- Maar nu de geocoins verloren zijn moet hij de codes wel publiceren om een kans te hebben dat ze terug in zijn verzameling komen.
- Maar door de codes te publiceren kan hij niet zeker zijn dat wie de geocoins discovered een betrouwbare geocacher is die de coins ook echt gevonden heeft of dat het gewoon iemand is die de publieke codes gebruikt om te loggen.
aaarrrrggghhhhh....
Hij denkt uit deze catch-22 te kunnen geraken door Dani+Iris deze Wherigo cartridge te laten programmeren.
De cartridge bevat een slimme methode om de verloren coins op te sporen en de codes te kunnen delen met de betrouwbare geocacher die ze kan gebruiken om de coins te discoveren maar ze niet zal delen met andere geocachers. En... de verloren coins terug te laten komen in zijn verzameling.

- Zijn dilemma? Luc zal proberen je ware aard te kennen door voor de discovered logs van de coins een overeenkomstige Wherigo found log te vinden.
- Jouw dilemma? Trap niet in de vallen die de hackersgemeenschap H0rk0s M3nd0z@ heeft opgezet want zij willen de verloren coins zelf bemachtigen tegen elke prijs en ergens geraakten ze in een avontuur verwikkeld met Dani+Iris...

We staken weer ontelbare uren in het maken van deze cartridge maar we waren zeer vereerd dit te mogen doen in het grotere geheel van de organisatie en het team van de Belgian Geocoin Association vzw.
