Geocache Description:

August 2009: Since we have other caches in the Navarino wildlife area and Jason, Kelly, Chad, and Risa have moved, we have taken up this cache in order to carry on the legend. This is a difficult cache and a great adventure no matter what season you attempt it. It is available in winter but it will get buried in snow. Since it is a metal ammo can, it should be findable with a little pinpoint excavating.

Original listing:

The Legend of Navarino Bob

Local legend has it that that there was a man that worked on the railroad who stayed and lived in these woods after the railroad company moved on, the locals call Navarino Bob. To this day you can still see his makeshift shack along the railroad tracks deep inside the Navirino Wildlife Area.

On your way to the cache site you are sure to find out why Navarino Bob decided to spend the rest of his life in the area living off the land.
