Geocache Description:

LV Slēpnis novietots Trikātas pilsdrupās. EN Cache is placed in Trikāta Castle ruins.

[LV] Indriķa Livonijas hronikā Trikātas zeme minēta kopš 1208. gada. No hronikas teksta secināms, ka Trikāta bijusi cieši saistīta ar bieži pieminēto Beverīnas pili. Dokumentos Trikātas ordeņa pils (Trikaten) pirmo reizi minēta 1429. gadā, kad tā kalpojusi par ordeņa fogta rezidenci. Ziemeļu kara laikā 1702. gadā krievi pili nodedzina un to vairs neatjauno. Šobrīd Trikātas pilsdrupās atrodas estrāde.

Šis slēpnis bija arī daļa no tūrisma akcijas "Simtgades dārgumi", ko organizēja Valmieras Tūrisma informācijas centrs sadarbībā ar Kocēnu, Burtnieku un Beverīnas novadiem

[ENG] The land of Trikāta was first mentioned in the Livonian Chronicles of Henry in 1208. It can be concluded that Trikāta was closely connected with the legendary Beverīna Castle. In other documents Trikāta (Trikaten) Livonian Order Castle was first mentioned in 1429, when it served as the residence of the Vogt. During the Northern War Russians burned down the castle and ever since it has not been rebuilt. Nowadays the Trikāta Castle ruins accommodate an open-air stage.

This cache was also part of tourism campaign “Centennial treasures”.
