WILL JAMES – CANADA150

* Please BYOP * You are looking for a small bison tube.

Although he called himself an American, that was far from the truth! Will James, whose real name was Ernest Dufault, was born on June 6, 1892, not in Montana, but in St-Nazaire d'Acton, Quebec, in the Eastern Townships south of Drummondville.

In 1907, at the age of fifteen, he set off for adventure in Western Canada, with the permission of his parents. The first town he stopped in was Val-Marie, Saskatchewan.

A few years later, Ernest Dufault moved to the United States and changed his name to Will James. He invented a fictional cowboy life and wrote many books about his imaginary existence in the Wild West. For a long time, he was terrified  that people would discover his true French-Canadian identity.

An outstanding illustrator, he published many books of his works. Two of his novels, Smoky and Lone Cowboy, were made into movies. He also worked as  a stuntman in Hollywood movies.
