For a while I have watched monthly not-so-nearby events pop up in the list of geocaching events "near" me and thought to myself "I wish there was a monthly geocaching gathering closer to me." Now I have come to terms with two things:
1. I don't want to drive 30+ minutes to attend a monthly geocaching gathering.
2. The only way to ensure there is a local gathering to attend is to start one myself.
Thus, I am kicking it off with the first meeting of G4, which stands for Gaithersburg-Germantown Geocaching Gathering, from 19:00 - 21:00 EDT (7 PM to 9 PM for those who don't like 24 time) in Wegmans food court on Monday, 7 August.
I am planning on having this gathering somewhere in Gaithersburg or Germantown on the first Monday of each month. I am open to suggestions for different locations for following months, and any other suggestions.
So come on out, bring trackables to discover, pathtags to trade, stories to share, wounds to show off, swag to inspire awe, terrible puzzles to baffle, and trips to plan!
