Plaisance, le bourg d'Eyrenville Traditional Geocache

La commune d'Eyrenville a choisi de s'associer dès 1972 avec deux autres communes, Falgueyrat et Mandacou et fusionné suite au référendum du 17 janvier 2010 pour former une seule commune appelée Plaisance.

The commune of Eyrenville chose to join in 1972 with two other communes, Falgueyrat and Mandacou and merged with them, following the referendum of 17 January 2010, to form a single commune called Plaisance.

La commune de Plaisance fait la limite avec le département voisin du lot et Garonne avec la rivière Dropt. D’une superficie de 2475 ha, elle compte 445 habitants.

L’exploitation de la vigne, aujourd'hui encore très présente, et des carrières de calcaire sont les témoins contemporains de ce que fut Eyrenville par le passé.

Dans la monographie du canton d'Issigeac, l'auteur disait d'Eyrenville : « Pendant la période prospère du vignoble, la population s'accrut. Aujourd'hui, les maisons se démolissent pour éviter l'impôt, les villages se désertent ; les mariages sont rares, les unions stériles. Malgré cela, les terres sont assez bien cultivées et les nécessiteux sont peu encombrants ».

The commune of Plaisance makes the boundary with the department adjoining the lot and Garonne with the River Dropt. With an area of 2475 hectares, it has 445 inhabitants.

The exploitation of the vine, today still very present, and quarries of limestone are the contemporary witnesses of what was Eyrenville in the past.

In the monograph of the Canton of Issigeac, the author said Eyrenville: During the prosperous period of the vineyard, the population grew. Today, the houses are demolished to avoid tax, the villages are deserting; Marriages are rare, sterile unions. "Despite this, the land is fairly well cultivated and the needy are not bulky."

A Plaisance, l’église d’Eyrenville, dont la patronne est sainte Marie-Madeleine, est construite au XIIe siècle. Située sur les terres du seigneur de la Grèze, les archives mentionnent que ses armoiries étaient gravées sur chaque flanc de l’édifice.

À la fin du moyen âge (XV^ème siècle) et après le réforme (au XVI^ème siècle), on sait qu’Eyrenville était intimement liée à l’évêque de Sarlat qui à travers l’archiprêtre d’Issigeac, son vassal, et les « proches » installés dans la place, pesait de tout son poids dans la région.

At Plaisance, the church of Eyrenville, whose patron saint Mary Magdalene, was built in the 12th century. Located on the land of the Lord of Grèze, the archives mentions that his coats of arms were carved on each side of the building.

At the end of the Middle Ages (15th century) and after the reform (in the sixteenth century), it is known that Eyrenville was intimately linked to the bishop of Sarlat who, through the archpriest of Issigeac, his vassal, and the "relatives" settled in the place, weighed with all his weight in the region.
