Povljana je smještena na jugu otoka Paga, u prekrasnoj prirodnoj uvali. Okrenuta zapadu zaštitila se od jakih vjetrova bure i juga. Zaštitu i utočište pruža i putniku s mora i onom na kopnu, zaljubljeniku u otočki krš i bilje okupano suncem i začinjeno solju. Tradicionalno, Povljana je bila poljoprivredno područje koje je stoljećima prehranjivalo veći dio otoka. Uz poljoprivredu, stanovništvo Povljane bavi se ribarstvom i stočarstvom. Do velikih promjena dolazi sredinom 20-og st. kada se u Povljani počinje razvijati turizam.

Izrazito čisto more obiluje mnogim ribljim i drugim morskim vrstama, pa se u obližnjim uvalama mogu naći dagnje, posebno u Starom zaljevu. Povljana ima vrlo razvedenu obalu sa brojnim valama i plažama. Uz more se proteže osvijetljena šetnica, gdje se mogu voziti i role, skate ili voziti bicikl. Povljana je prije svega mirno dalmatinsko mjesto, ali u srcu turističke sezone lokalna turistička zajednica organizira bogat kulturni i društveni program.

Povljana is located in the south of the Pag island in a beautiful natural bay. Orientated to the west, Povljana is protected from the strong winds named: „bora“ and „jugo“. From the sea and from the land it provides shelter to the traveler, who enjoys the island karst and plants bathed in sun and spiced with salt. Traditionally, Povljana was an agricultural area that has fed most of the Pag islanders for centuries. Alongside agriculture, the population of Povljana also breeds cattle and works on fisheries. The great changes occur in the mid-20th century with the development of tourism.
Povljana has many sandy and pebble beaches with easy access to the sea. The location is suitable for young children and non-swimmers. Extremely clear sea is abundant with many fish and other sea species, so various shells can be found in nearby coves, especially in the Old Bay. Povljana has a very indented coastline with numerous beaches. Along to the sea stretches a lighted promenade, where you can skate, rollerblade or ride a bike. Povljana is, above all, a quiet Dalmatian place, but in the heart of the tourist season the local tourist community organizes a rich cultural and social program.
This cache takes you to the small port and the docks. The small port which privides shellter for boats of various sizes. On Thursdays, here you can see a fishing boat on the main dock and, if the catch was good, you can buy fresh fish. In the immediate proximity of the cache is the coffee bar „Brod“. If you take a good look, here you will see a stuffed shark which was caught in the bay by locals. In the evening and early in the morning you can see sports fishermen enjoying the blue sea and fishing on the docks.
