Maryse Carmichael - CANADA150 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

onecrazycanadian: Hi,

The low health score on this cache has remained below 60 since our last contact. I see no sign of any maintenance being done to correct this and I have had no response from the owner since my last contact. Due to the lack of response I have no idea if any corrective action has been taken. Consequently I am archiving the cache at this time. If the owner does happen to complete the maintenance required and wish to activate the cache again just let me know and I will consider unarchiving it once the issue is resolved.

Thanks

MARYSE CARMICHAEL – CANADA150

*PLEASE BYOP*

From a very young age, Lieutenant-Colonel Maryse Carmichael, a native of Quebec City, dreamt of flying aircraft. After serving in the cadets from 1984 to 1988, she enrolled in the Canadian Forces, where she obtained her pilot's license in Moose Jaw in 1994.

She had many roles in the Forces in the years that followed, including flight instructor and pilot for Prime Minister Jean Chrétien and Governor General Adrienne Clarkson.

In November 2001, she became the first woman to join the legendary Snowbird team. Then, in 2010, she broke through another glass ceiling; she was named Commanding Officer of the Snowbirds, making her the first woman to lead the acrobatic squadron.

Retired from the Snowbirds since 2013, Lieutenant-Colonel Maryse Carmichael is an inspiration for women across the country. She continues to live in Moose Jaw with her husband and two daughters.
