Prepare: For those of you who wish to be adequately prepared, scrunch up 10 "snowballs" each made from one 8.5 x 11" letter-sized piece of paper. Wear a pair of weird and wacky sunglasses. Mind you, many geocachers are already weird and wacky, so they might already have their own.
Approach: Parking: There is limited parking at the park; there's also some on 114 street & 115 street and other streets nearby. At 10:50 a.m., be ready to gather in Grant Notley park from some location nearby. Look nonchalant and inconspicuous. Look otherwise engaged rather than like you're waiting. Check your cellphone. Tie your shoes. Take a few pictures. There are several benches in the park itself, as well as in the gazebo (though the gazebo gets rented out to wedding parties). With any luck, they'll be empty. Sit and have a conversation with another geocacher. Try any of the usual muggle distractors when you're geocaching.
Snowball Fight: 11:00-11:11 a.m. - At the call, "Weird and Wacky Snowball Throwers of the World Prepare to Fight!", Put on your "Weird and Wacky" sunglasses. Stand on either side of the sidewalk and start throwing "snowballs" at the other side. You must bring your own paper snowballs as noted under preparation. Snowballs that land on the ground can be "reused". Snowball throwing in June wearing sunglasses (now that's weird and wacky) will continue until 11:11 a.m.
Event Log: There will be a log to sign. Half a playing card will be distributed for the prizes.
Prizes, Log and Group Photo: 11:11-11:30 a.m. - We will pick up the leftover "snowballs" and distribute a couple of prizes to randomly-selected people attending the event, take a photo of the group, then disperse.
Let’s have some fun and make the Muggles wonder what the heck is going on.
According to Wikipedia, a flash mob (or flashmob) is a "group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then quickly disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment".
Log: Log your attendance at geocaching.com and post any pictures you may have taken.
History: Make history by participating in a World Wide Flash Mob being held near you!!!
