Lee State Natural Area is a large park containing floodplain forest, artesian springs, a millpond, sandhills and access to the Lynches River. Lee is a Discover Carolina site. Nature trails, campgrounds, picnic areas and equestrian trails and facilities are available. You can fish (with a valid license) from the banks of the river or in the Artesian Lake. Admission to the park is free but there is a box for voluntary donations.
This cache is now a full-size ammo can (appropriately marked) which will hopefully seal better than both the original and its replacement.
Please replace the cache as you found it. Then tour the rest of the park. Say hello to any of the park rangers. Visit the artesian wells; you can drink the water. This is South Carolina, so be aware that snakes and other critters may be around. They live there, so don't hurt them.
The cache was placed with the permission and assistance of Park Manager Mike Mathis and Adam.
