Зимой просто погулять по парку или насладиться прелестями подлёдной рыбалки. Но чем больше облагораживается и застраивается это место, тем всё меньше и реже люди вспоминают историю Комсомольского озера. А некоторые её и не знают.
«Прошу направить… Готов выполнить любое задание…». Тысячи молодых добровольцев, как клятву, писали эти слова, готовые по комсомольскому призыву влиться в ряды строителей коммунизма, продолжая подвиги старших поколений и открывая новые страницы в истории комсомола. Но не все желающие, по каким-то объективным или субъективным причинам могли попасть на такие стройки века, как ДнепроГЭС или ТуркСиб. Союз потихоньку выкарабкивался с разрухи, войн и голода первых лет своего существования. Молодёжь с азартом работала, но она же хотела и отдыхать. Всё это вкупе и подвигло комсомольцев разворачивать локальные стройки, так сказать, на местах, не отходя от кассы. Как грибы после дождя, росли Комсомольские парки, кинотеатры «Комсомолец», даже город Комсомольск-на-Амуре отгрохали. Стали появляться и искусственные озёра, естественно, Комсомольские. Ташкент, Харьков, Кишинёв, Минск…
Итак, решено. Строительство озера началось весной 1940 г. возведением плотины на реке Свислочь.
Место для озера было выбрано живописное: между поселком Веселовка и Сторожевкой (Переспой). По одной из версий, именно здесь находилась мельница старого Минска. По легенде, богатырь (асiлак) Менеск делал муку не из зерна, а из камней. Чтобы выполнять такую тяжёлую работу, он со всех окрестных мест приглашал сильных людей. Они и положили начало городу, называть который стали именем асилка — Менеск. Сейчас примерно на этом месте N53°55.212' E27°32.796' установлена инсталляция в виде мельничного круга — жернова.
Для создания плотины на строящемся озере городские власти выпросили у Совнаркома БССР 8 миллионов рублей. Однако этот расход государственных средств не был одобрен председателем Совнаркома СССР В. М. Молотовым. Затея с озером подверглась уничтожающей критике и в газете «Правда». Пришлось земляные работы вести на добровольных началах, и котлован под озеро площадью в 35 га горожане выкопали вручную.
18 июня 1941 г. газеты сообщили, что началось заполнение искусственного котлована озера водами реки Свислочь. Торжественное открытие озера намечалось на воскресенье — 22 июня 1941 г. В полдень здесь должно было состояться открытие купального сезона, пройти соревнование физкультурников. Но люди, пришедшие на праздник, из громкоговорителей услышали не музыку, а объявление о начале войны.
Поблизости к этому месту расположились российское, иранское, польское и азербайджанское посольства, дворец детей и молодежи, отель Hayatt Regency. Здесь же можно обнаружить спортивные тренажеры под поткрытым небом и оборудованную смотровую площадку с красивым видом на острова и город. В общем, есть где развернуться фантазии для отдыха и приятного кэшинга. Иногда можно увидеть проплывающий мимо теплоход "Новый Несвиж", за штурвалом которого капитан -- настоящий морской волк, в своем прошлом прошедший все четыре океана!

But not all those wishing, for some objective or subjective reasons, could get on such construction sites of the century as DneproGES or TurkSib. The Union slowly got out of the devastation, wars and famine of the first years of its existence. Young people worked with excitement, but she also wanted to rest. All this combined and encouraged the Komsomol to deploy local construction projects, so to speak, on the ground, without departing from the ticket office. Like mushrooms after the rain, Komsomolsky parks grew, the Komsomolets cinemas, even the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, were rebuilt. Began to appear and artificial lakes, of course, Komsomolskie. Tashkent, Kharkov, Chisinau, Minsk ...
So, it's decided. The construction of the lake began in the spring of 1940 by erecting a dam on the Svisloch River.
The place for the lake was chosen picturesque: between the village of Veselovka and Storozhevka (Perespoy). According to one of the versions, it was here that the mill of the old Minsk was located. According to legend, the hero (asilak) Menezk made flour not from grain, but from stones. To perform such hard work, he invited strong people from all surrounding places. They also laid the foundation for the city, which they called the name of the Asilka - Menesk. Now, at about this place N53°55.212' E27°32.796' , an installation is installed in the form of a mill circle - a millstone.
To create a dam on the lake under construction, the city authorities asked the Council of People's Commissars of the BSSR to pay 8 million rubles. Nearby to this place are the Russian, Iranian, Polish and Azerbaijani embassies, the Palace of Children and Youth, the Hayatt Regency Hotel. Here you can find sports simulators under the open sky and equipped observation deck with a beautiful view of the islands and the city. In general, there is where to develop fantasies for recreation and pleasant caching. Sometimes you can see a boat passing by "New Nesvizh", at the helm of which the captain - a real sea wolf, in his past passed all four oceans!
