This site has been used for worship for over a thousand years. The west tower is all that remains of the medieval church. It is mostly built of local red sandstone, which is difficult to dress. Beer stone is used for window and door surrounds, corner stones and gargoyles.
Inside, the roofs are formed of plain scissor-braced trusses, the valley between the two roofs being supported by simple timber pillars. The chancel whitewashed brickwork and simple pine pews are fitting for a small village church.
There is a FREE car park immediately behind the Church, which is accessed via School Lane and Robert Way. A footpath leads from the car park to the church and the main road.
There is no need to enter the church grounds or the cemetery to retrieve the cache.
