Western Cape Geocaching
Weekend Camping.
A weekend of Camping, Caching, Swimming, Fishing, Cycling, Braaiing and having lots of fun.
Directions:
Silwerstroom Strand is situated approximately 13km North of Melkbosstrand, and about 10km West of Atlantis. The resort is accessible from the West Coast Road (R27) on the Silwerstroom Strand road.
It will be a fun, socializing, geocaching event where any geocaching family/individual will be welcome to join. The event will be taking place from 30 Sept - 01 Oct 2017, but you are welcome to attend one or both of the days over the course of the weekend, although the best part is staying over and sharing in all the fun over the whole weekend. Bring along your camping gear, caravan, your family, fishing gear, swimwear, kayaks and whatever you need to have a fun time.
The event will officially start at
09:00 Saturday morning (30 September ) and end at 12:00 Sunday (01 October).
You are more than welcome to join and leave as you please.
The environs include a long stretch of attractive coastline, a small bay to the South (Skulpbaai) and the Silwerstroom River to the North. The resort falls within the Cape West Coast Biosphere Reserve and Koeberg Power Station, and is bordered by the nature reserve to the South.

Activities:
We will be doing some caches in the area over the weekend. There will be no set group caching, but you are more than welcome to grab another team and buddy up if you don't feel like being alone. A great opportunity to make new friends. Keep an eye on the area as to not miss the caches that will be placed especially for the weekend. We can assure you, there will be plenty to choose from. Cellphone reception is good, so you will not struggle to quickly run a pocket query if need be.
The weekend will be the perfect opportunity to relax; do some caching and get plenty FTF's.
