На территории нынешнего Хатежинского сельсовета изначально был образован Старосельский сельсовет с центром в д. Старое Село.
К 28 июня 1941 года большая группа советских войск собралась в городке Зельва.
С утра они сделали попытку прорваться из окружения. 48-й Кубанский полк во главе с командиром пытался прорываться южнее Зельвы в районе деревни Ивашковичи и был в упор расстрелян пулемётчиками противника. Недалеко от них, около деревни Горно так же неудачно прорывался 144-й полк 36-й кавдивизии.
Вечером 28 июня, собравшиеся в Зельве советские войска вновь попытались совершить прорыв окружения. Из города двинулся бронепоезд, поддержанный несколькими танками Т-26 справа от полотна дороги и двумя эскадронами кавалерии слева от полотна. За ними шла пехота. Но они попали на линию обороны 29-й немецкой мотострелковой дивизии, командир генерал-майор фон Больтенштейн, из 3-й танковой группы Гудериана. Кавалеристы двигались прямо на расположения штаба 2-го батальона 15-го пехотного полка. Немецким сапёрам удалось подорвать железную дорогу спереди и сзади бронепоезда и его расстреляла 37-мм орудия 14-й противотанковой батареи. С танками Т-26 расправились 50-мм орудия. Встав на ноги, генерал организовал партизанский отряд, в который вошли его спаситель с двумя сыновьями - Владимиром и Семеном, сумел объединиться с другими отрядами и стал заместителем начальника штаба Минского партизанского соединения. В сентябре 1942 года его на самолёте доставили в Москву. Здесь генерал М.П. Константинов прошёл все проверки, окончил в 1943 году Академию Генерального штаба, стал командиром 7-го гвардейского кавалерийского корпуса, которым командовал до конца войны. За освобождение Польши ему присвоено звание Героя Советского Союза.

On the territory of the present Hatezhinsky village soviet, the Staroselski village council was initially established with a center in the village of Staroye Selo.
By June 28, 1941, a large group of Soviet troops had gathered in the town of Zelva.
In the morning they made an attempt to break out of the encirclement. The 48th Kuban Regiment, led by the commander, tried to break out south of Zelva in the vicinity of Ivashkovichi village and was shot at point-blank range by enemy machine gunners. Not far from them, near the village of Gorno, the 144th regiment of the 36th Cavalry Division also failed unsuccessfully.
In the evening of June 28, the Soviet troops assembled in Zelva again attempted to break through the encirclement. An armored train, supported by several T-26 tanks to the right of the road bed and two squadrons of cavalry to the left of the canvas, moved from the city. Behind them was the infantry. But they fell on the line of defense of the 29th German Motorized Rifle Division, the commander of Major-General von Boltenstein, from the 3rd Tank Group Guderian. The cavalrymen moved directly to the headquarters of the 2nd battalion of the 15th Infantry Regiment. German sappers managed to undermine the railway in front and behind the armored train and shot him 37-mm guns of the 14th anti-tank battery. With the T-26 tanks, 50-mm guns were straightened. After that, the artillery and machine gunners opened fire on the advancing infantry. Cavalrymen were shot by machine gunners of the 8th company. The breakthrough was drowned in blood.
The Cossacks tried to escape from the encirclement and in other places, and those who could not get through, continued to fight with the enemy in its rear.
The commander of the 6th Cavalry Division, Major-General M.P. Konstantinov with a breakthrough June 29 from the environment under the town Ross was wounded in the legs and back.
