Lepida's Waterfalls is located 18 km West of Astros on mountain Parnonas, north of Platanos village in Vrasiatis gorge. They are very impressive and unknown to the people.
There are three waterfalls with three different sizes, small, medium and the big one, and they offered for normal hiking and rapel. This cache is located at the bottom of the bigger waterfall. Its height is 70m while medium's height is 45m. You can see the smaller waterfall on your way to the big one. To visit the medium waterfall it is better to approach from Agios Ioannis village and then you have to drive or hike 4 km in dirt road. For this one, I recommend you to drive your car until the parking spot. From there, take the footpath and in 70-80m you will reach the river. Follow the river until the waterfall. From the parking spot the distance until the waterfall is about 1.5km. Even not very experienced people in hiking can reach the final spot. With a little effort they can do it. Off course if only the water has normal flow. I strongly recommend you to visit this cache during Spring time until early May, in order to enjoy nature at the most. In summertime there is little or no water flow and you will see only dry rocks. And do not forget the excessive heat at that period.
The cache
Due to bad satellite signal at the gorge (I had 45 meters accuracy) the coordinates were corrected using Goole Earth. When you reach the waterfall go at the left side of the waterfall, into the trees area. There you will find a rock (see spoiler picture). The cache is in a hole at the front facade of this rock behind two stones. It's not very difficult. The container is a small cylindrical plastic box with logbook, stash note and a little space for 1-2 coins. Sign the logbook and put it back exactly as you found it.
Please respect the nature and take all your garbage with you. Do not leave anything behind.
