Geocache Description:

This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at http://www.sidetrackedseries.info Please remember to sign the log book to claim a find.

About Elstree and Borehamwood Stations. Situated north of the Elstree Tunnels, it was built by the Midland Railway as simply "Elstree" in 1868 when it built its extension to St Pancras station. By the 1920s, it had been renamed Elstree and Boreham Wood station. It was modernised in 1959. The station was renamed from Elstree & Borehamwood to Elstree on 6 May 1974 but reverted to Elstree & Borehamwood by mid 1988. Elstree is now home to Elstree Studios where Eastenders is filmed. The cache was originally placed and then archived so I have renabled it as part of the sidetracked series.
