This is the first in a series of caches that will take you by some of the provinces 68 remaining authentic lighthouses.
Take the Lorneville Rd. to Coleson Cove. Follow the signs to Black Beach, 2.1 km. on a dirt road. Park in the turnout area on your left BEFORE heading down the hill to Black Beach. Go under or around the red barricade and walk west 1.4 km. on the dirt road to the lighthouse. From the LH you will see a sign for Troy’s Trail which will take you to the cache. Cache is a camo’d PB jar with an orange waterproof container inside that contains the log sheet.
UPDATE 2022: When this cache was placed over 20 years ago there was no trail leading from the lighthouse. I clamoured along the rocks to the remnants of the old lifesaving station(you can still see it in the rocky gut near the cache) then cut into the woods. I found the only yellow birch tree in the area and it had a great hidey hole at the base, perfect hiding spot for years. Then it started to go missing. Well no wonder!! That lonely tree in the woods is now almost smack-dab in the middle of a well used footpath, Troy’s Trail! I have relocated the cache away from the path where it hopefully can stay hidden out of sight for years to come.
THIS CACHE IS NOT WINTER FRIENDLY!!! PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE IF FROZEN!
AS ALWAYS, PLEASE LEAVE THE CACHE AS WELL OR BETTER HIDDEN THAN YOU FOUND IT
