En 1939, il existait des terrains de desserte ou de dégagement pour la base aérienne de Dijon-Longvic et cela à divers endroits de la Côte d’Or dont celui de Touillon-Montbard.
On retrouve son existence dans différents documents :
- tout d’abord sur les cartes d’état major ou carte IGN a proximité de Touillon, on y trouve l’indication : ‘Ancien Camp d’Aviation’ et parfois ‘Ancien Aérodrome’
- sur le site Internet (www.histavia21.net) :
- Un avion de reconnaissance … du GBA I/54 qui venait de Touillon près de Montbard s’est crashé à Coulmier le Sec lors d’un exercice de vol à basse altitude.
- Le 1 juin 1940, les groupes de bombardement dont le GB II/12 s'installent à Touillon les Montbard …
- Le 3 Juin 1940 le GB II/12 quitte le terrain de Touillon les Montbard, trop exigu … le GB II/12 dispose de 16 bombardiers Léo 451.
- Également en 1940 : Crash à 1H00 dans la nuit, il avait décollé de Touillon-les-Montbard vers 22h20 pour un bombardement des usines BMW dans le secteur de Munich.
Et par d’autres informations :
- Dans le travail de recherche ‘Les aérodromes français des origines à 1975’ de Robert Espérou : …le groupe de bombardement GBA1/54 se trouva de Péronne à Monsen-Chaussée, puis successivement à Toul-Ochey, Touillon-les-Montbard, …
- La Compagnie de l'Air 25/102 était l'unité en charge de ce terrain. Le journal de marche de cette compagnie de l’Air se trouve au Service Historique de la Défense à Vincennes, il est consultable par la cote 2D150. On y trouve, entre autre, les événements du 31/08/1939 au 26/06/1940.
Ce terrain a ensuite été délaissé car probablement trop exigu et par son absence d’infrastructures conséquentes.
Le seul élément restant de cette époque est l’ensemble de bâtiments (maison importante et ses dépendances) au fond à droite de ce lieu. C’était probablement le lieu de commandement de ce terrain d’aviation militaire.

In front of you, in 1939, there was a military aviation camp (ground), today the farm has resumed its rights on this ground with a drop very close to zero. There remains a vestige of the time, the set of buildings (important house and its outbuildings) at the bottom right of this landscape.
In 1939, there were service or clearance areas for the Dijon-Longvic air base at various places on the Côte d´Or including that of Touillon-Montbard.
We find its existence in various documents:
- first of all on the staff maps or IGN map near Touillon, there is the indication: ‘Ancien Camp d´Aviation’ and sometimes Ancien Aérodrome ’
- on the website (www.histavia21.net):
-> A reconnaissance plane ... of the GBA I / 54 which came from Touillon near Montbard crashed at Coulmier le Sec during a low-altitude flight exercise.
-> On June 1, 1940, the bombing groups including GB II / 12 set up in Touillon les Montbard ...

-> Also in 1940: Crash at 1:00 am in the night, it had taken off from Touillon-les-Montbard around 10:20 pm for a bombing of BMW factories in the Munich area.

->Compagnie de l'Air 25/102 was the unit in charge of this terrain. The logbook of this Airline company can be found at the Service Historique de la Défense in Vincennes, and can be consulted via call number 2D150. It includes, among other things, the events from 08/31/1939 to 06/26/1940.
This land was then abandoned because it was probably too small and because of its lack of substantial infrastructure.
The only remaining element from this period is the set of buildings (important house and its outbuildings) at the back to the right of this place. It was probably the place of command of this military airfield.
