Geocache Description:

Quick multi-stage cache at the Historic Fall River Hydroplant which generated electricity for the Stanley Hotel and Estes Park for many years. The final-stage cache is just a short drive back towards the main road.

Stage 1: Near GZ & the parking area, look for the sign for The Historic Fall River Hydro Plant. Along with the hours of operation in summer, find the phone number. The digit which appears three times = "A"

Stage 2: N40 24.017  W105 35.17A  is a short walk from the parking area. While the Museum itself is open in summer, the outside informational panels tell much about F.O. Stanley's hydro-electricl plant, which served as the power source for the Stanley Hotel and Estes Park for many years.

F.O. Stanley: Possessing enormous energy, Stanley created the Stanley Steamer, built his resort community& famous hotel, constructed the hydroplant, and continued improving many aspects of Estes Park over the next "3D" years.

Investing in the Future: With uncertain roads into the town of Estes Park, and the cost of coal, Stanley invested $"AC",000 into building a hydroelectric plant for his "all-electric" hotel, and eventually powering the community of Estes Park as well.

The Power of Estes Park: This small electric plant generated power for the Stanely Hotel, "E" miles away. A dam and diversion structure at Cascade Lake sent water "B,300" feet away, with a vertical drop of "E00" feet to the power plant and its 200 kilowatt power generator.

Stage 3: N 40 23.CD0  W 105 3E.CAB  Just down the road, with parking nearby.
