Geocache Description:

This Educational Event (EduVent) is brought to you by the members of: GeocacheAlaska!

Working hard to promote Geocaching in Alaska! Please join us today!

Meet fellow geocachers and learn all about Geocaching from experienced cachers on Thursday, March 16, beginning at 6:55 p.m., at the BP Energy Center, 900 E. Benson Blvd. (Click for map.)

The New Geocaching App

This evening will focus on some of our smarty-pants phone apps for geocaching. The evening will start with a brief presentation by NorthWes on the use of social media, especially in regard to posting your geocaching photos. Next up, ftl-ak will review the use and features of the "new" Geocaching App. If you haven't heard, the "old" Geocaching App will be officially retired on March 23 and will no longer function after that date. All those who use their phone for geocaching will have to switch to the "new" Geocaching App or a 3rd Party App to continue caching by phone.

This event will be carried live over the internet via WebEx with audio over a phone line. GeocacheAlaska! Sourdough Members who cannot attend an event site can link in remotely. Contact the Webmaster for instructions on how to do so.

Please post a "Will Attend" log on this event page to stay appraised of any changes or updates to this presentation. If we need to make any announcements about this event, all registered attendees will automatically receive an email copy of those announcements via the email you have registered with your Geocaching.com account. Adding a "Will Attend" log to this page will also assure enough hard copy handouts are printed for the event participants.

Please arrive on time so upfront administrative details can be handled and announcements made, allowing the course content to start precisely at 7:00 p.m. Also, please bring your favorite nonalcoholic beverage and a dessert to share with your fellow cachers.

The GCAK Store will be available onsite immediately before the presentation.
