Geocache Description:

A pretty little cascade and pool on Calvert's Creek at Mount White.

To reach this cache, go bush from the trailhead coordinates through fairly open forest. Once away from the road, there are vestigial tracks and several large clearings (reference points R1-R4) that'll avoid most of the thick scrub. Head for the "Sentinels" reference point (R5), where a narrow track passes between two old fire-ravaged Blackbutt trees. Here you can either go straight ahead and across the creek above the cascade (watch for slippery rocks), or down to the right across a small gully and around onto the lower rock platform that the creek flows under. At GZ look for a magnificent red gum growing sideways out of the rock.

The container is a 380ml Sistema with a pencil included. After signing the log, take the time to explore the cascade; there's a nice little sinkhole in the top shelf where a lot of the water gurgles down through the rock.

The cache and waypoints are in a public reserve, but be aware there's private property about sixty metres south of GZ so don't stray too far off course.

A lot of water can come down here during and immediately after heavy rain so it's best avoided then.
