"Geocachers around the world celebrate International Cache In Trash Out weekend annually by hosting and participating in Cache In Trash Out Events in their local area. Events might be focused on litter clean-up, removal of invasive species, revegetation efforts or building trails. Together, we make an enormous positive impact. Did we mention that we also have a bit of fun while we're at it?" (geocaching.com)
"Since 2002, CITO has helped preserve the natural beauty of cache-friendly spaces. In that time, more than 240,000 people have volunteered at 11,000 CITO events." (geocaching.com)
The 15th Annual Cache In Trash Out Weekend is scheduled for April 22 to 30, 2017.
Please join us at the Blackberry Creek Park on Saturday, April 29 at 10am. It should last approximately 1 hour. We have noticed quite a bit of littering in the park recently, so it is in once again in need of our attention.
Bags will be provided. Please bring your work gloves.
Work some, visit some, and earn a souvenir!
We are planning on having breakfast for our wonderful volunteers, so be sure to log your "will attend" so that we will have plenty. Who knows, maybe we can get SBCP to bring some more biscuits?!?! (Hehehehe.)
