A very simple multi. At the given coordinates look up, you will see the village sign for Dereham. The sign commemorates St Withburga, a Saxon princess, who supposedly founded a monastery here. She was provided with milk by two deer; when a huntsman came after them with dogs, he was struck down by God and died instantly. Hanging from the sign are 2 plaques with numbers. The year the sign was placed - ABCD and the year the monastery was founded - EFG.
To find the coordinates, work out the following.
N52 D (D-G) . (E+A) ((E+F)-G) (C+A)
E0 F E . D ((C+E)-D) A
If anybody would like to expand this series please do. I would just ask that you let Smokeypugs know first so they can keep track of the Village Sign numbers and names to avoid duplication.
