Near GZ you will find yourself at a logjam!
The logjams are enlarged rock deflectors, that have been installed in the Murrumbidgee river. The logjams are designed to narrow the river channel. Water flows faster through the narrow channel, scouring the sand and deepening the channel, which allows larger fish to pass through. This is required, due to the shallow sandy part of the river here - caused by clearing in the 1800s.
