Welcome to the Visit Baytown Texas GeoTour, where Family, History, and Nature Come Together! This cache is part of a series designed to take you on a tour of Baytown. Click here to download the Official GeoTour passport or stop by the tourism kiosk inside Buc-ee’s - Baytown, N 29° 48.050 W 094° 60.000, to pick one up! Accrue 28+ points & receive a Texas themed trackable geocoin!

Park in the small lot at the suggested coordinates, then walk down the path you see ahead. Once you find the cache, take in the beautiful view of Goose Creek flowing beside the oldest High School in the Baytown area, Robert E. Lee High School. Skillfully created, this school was designed by Houston architect, Harry D. Payne, in 1928 to better serve the community as the centerpiece for local organizations, church activity, and a public venue for civic events. Lee High School also held junior college classed at night until Lee College later moved to their own location up the street. Sadly, disaster struck on April 29, 1987 when someone committed arson and the entire main building was destroyed. The citizens insisted on the restoration of their beloved high school, and in 1988 it was restored and formally rededicated!
