Geocache Description:

Our daughter was born in June 2016 and will always join us on our caching adventures, often in the pushchair but due to higher terrain ratings normally in her carrier. This is a cache for all those out there like us have young children and would enjoy a nice stroll along the St Paul's Bay seafront with their pushchair.

We live in the area and every day take baby Emily out for a stroll along the seafront and this cache incorporates a number of the areas we frequently visit, starting at the aquarium and heading along the seafront towards Bugibba Square and onwards towards St Paul's Bay itself. The walk in total is approximately 3km and there are plenty of other caches which you can pick up along the way with very little detour.

Stage 1 - (N 35 57,504 E 014 25,401) Malta National Aquarium has a very distinctive structure which can be spotted from all across the island, it is star shaped and bright white but have a wander around the outside, how many points are there in the star shaped building? Take the number of white points as letter A.

Stage 2 - (N 35 57,444 E 014 25,270) Qawra Coastal Entrenchment, this stretch of thick wall was built in the 1760's by the Knights of St John in order to resist any invading force by keeping them on the beaches. It would originally have consisted of a number of flat artillery platforms linked by long curtain walls, most is now under the roads and promenade but this stretch lies in view. How high would it have been though originally? Take this height in metres as the letter B.

Stage 3 - (N 35 57,394 E 014 25,133) Exercise Equipment is placed along this stretch of the Promenade for all to use free of use, each of them should have a sign describing proper technique and effective use however they also state an age restriction. What is the mimimum age you should be to safely use the equipment? Take this number as letter C.

Stage 4 - (N 35 57,199 E 014 24,921) Bugibba Water Park is a great place for the kids to escape the Summer heat and cool down with a splash and a laugh. You will see the name is in different colours, how many letters are in Orange? Take this number as letter D.

Stage 5 - (N 35 57,102 E 014 24,844) Bugibba Square is the social hub of the area with lots of people gathering throughout the year to meet their friends on the benches or share a coffee in one of the local cafes and restaurants. But there is also a number of large palm trees in the centre of the square to provide some shade. How many palm trees are there? Take this number as letter E.

Stage 6 - (N 35 56,988 E 014 24,498) The Promenade Park is one of the most recognisable features of the Bugibba promenade with its high towered staircase and a lovely place to chill out watching the comings and goings of the harbour before it. At the base of the staircase you will find a plaque with the date of its opening, take the final digit as letter F.

Stage 7 - (N 35 56,956 E 014 24,411) St Paul's Shipwreck Church. This church was built in the 17th century on the spot where St Paul supposedly crawled ashore following the Shipwreck of his ship on the island close by now named St Paul's Islands. During the festival of St Paul's Shipwreck, there is a bonfire lit outside this church often leading it to be known by the name 'Church of St Paul's Bonfire'. Above the door to the church you will find a shield carved into the stonework, upon it there are a number of crosses, take this number as the letter G.

Stage 8 - (N 35 56,937 E 014 24,300) Sirens is a very popular area throughout the summer for swimmers and sunbathers alike, you may also spot the area being used for some underwater activities as it is full of fish life and makes a great location to try Scuba Diving. Traditionally though this area would have been used for people to come and bath in the local sea waters, you will find here an example of the traditional bathing pools and may even spot that in each corner is a square hole. This would have at one stage housed a canopy to protect the bathers from the sun and providing privacy. How many bathing pools can you count in this area? Take this number as letter H.

Stage 9 - (N 35 56,978 E 014 24,164) Next to Wignacourt Tower stands a statue to former Countess Anna Bugeja. She was known for her charity work in particular helping the poor of the area. She was also instrumental in St Paul's Bay becoming a parish through her creation of a local church. In what year did the Countess pass away? Take the sum of these digits as letter I.

Stage  10 - (N 35 56,957 E 014 24,048) Here you will find a nice viewpoint over St Paul's Bay itself towards Xemxija and St Paul's Islands. Count the number of bins you find here and take this number as the letter J.

Stage 11 - (N 35 57,020 E 014 23,976) You are standing at the edge of Thalassalejn Bocci Klubb, Bocci is a traditional game believed to have had its origins in the Roman period. It is very much similar to the French Petanque or English Bowls but played with 3 players on a flat sand covered surface. Find here the statue of the Lady Madonna, she is standing almost like a prisoner in a cage, how many bars hold her back? Take this number as the letter K.

You should now have a collection of numbers which will lead you to the final location of this multi-cache. Add the numbers into this formula to find the final location.

 N 35 (C * F) , (D + G)(K + B)(A - K)

 E 014 (D * B + G) , (C - E)(I - A + J)(H - G)
