Look out Goulburn!
Here we come!!!
Geocaching NSW would like to extend an invitation to all geocachers to travel to Goulburn located in the beautiful Southern Tablelands area for our 2017 Regional Invasion during the weekend of the 18th/19th February.
Goulburn is around a two hour drive from Sydney and an hour from Canberra. It is well within the reach of many geocachers.
There are lots of fabulous geocaches to be found in this region so why not team up with a few friends and enjoy a fantastic weekend of geocaching fun.
On the Saturday evening, we will meet at the Goulburn Soldiers Club for an enjoyable dinner get-together. We are reliably informed by local geocacher, team_lewin, that this venue is an excellent one with delicious brasserie style meals.
Event details are as follows:
Date: Saturday, 18th February, 2017
Venue: Goulburn Soldiers Club – Market St, Goulburn
Time: 6:00pm to 8:00pm for dinner
Menu: We will be dining in the Diggers By The Park Brasserie. Digger’s offers a large selection of steaks, burgers, seafood, salads, the daily roast and desserts, all cooked to order. There's a kid's menu and gluten free and vegetarian options available. Visit the club’s website where the menu can be downloaded.
Cost: Meals can be paid for at time of ordering. Please know the table number you are seated at before you order.
Bookings: To assist us with determining numbers for this event so tables can be booked, could you please indicate how many from your team will be dining with us in your “Will Attend” log. Based on the information provided in those logs, we will be confirming numbers with the club on Thursday, 16th February.
Dress: Normal club dress regulations apply including footwear.
After dining, for those who would like to, we will gather in one of the club's lounge areas to continue our socialising. If there are geocachers who would like to attend this event but don't wish to dine with us, then this would be the time to come along. If this is what you prefer, in your "Will Attend" log, could you please indicate that you will not be dining with us.
There is plenty of accommodation around Goulburn. An internet search will come up with a number of options for you to choose from.
Events are a great way to meet new people and make new friends with a common interest, pick up the latest information on equipment, techniques and software and share stories about the latest caching adventure. You may even pick up a hint or two on those annoying DNFs.
