Alter do Chão é uma localidade pequena, antiga comunidade dos índios Borari, onde se pode desfrutar de praia de águas doces límpidas, boa culinária amazônica, e base de onde se pode sair para visitar a Floresta Nacional do Tapajós, o rio Arapiuns, o Furo do Jari. Para acessar o geocache recomenda-se fortemente: levar água, chapéu, protetor solar, calçado firme e confortável, óculos escuros com proteção contra radiação UV (Ultra Violeta). A subida se dá pela face leste do morro, assim, recomenda-se que a subida seja feita pela manhã bem cedo, ou após o meio da tarde, quando o Sol estará por trás do morro. Ao chegar à torre metálica, prossiga pela trilha, mais adiante encontrará um grupo de arbustos, onde está localizado o cache. Alter do Chao is a small locality, former community of the Borari Indians, where you can enjoy a beach with clear sweet water, good Amazonian cuisine, and base from which you can go out to visit the Tapajos National Forest, the river Arapiuns, the Jari Channel. To access the geocache is strongly recommended: carry water, hat, sunscreen, firm and comfortable footwear, sunglasses with protection against UV radiation (Ultra Violet). The ascent is given by the east face of the hill, so it is recommended that the ascent is done in the early morning, or after mid-afternoon, when the sun will be behind the hill.
