Geocache Description:

Bring your own pencil

Located on the northern shores of Wabamun Lake, Ascot Beach is a small day use area where families can picnic or travellers can stop for a break. Wabamun Lake is said to have gotten its name when an old Chief and his daughter were gazing across the shimmering waters of the expansive lake that was almost in the middle of what became Alberta. The daughter looked down and when she saw her reflection in the clear water, she said “Wa-ba-mun”. This means “looking glass” or “mirror” in the Cree language.

This geocache was part of the Parkland County GeoTour – Series 1 which has now ended.

Please contact CO Eyestone Saga when you have found and collected all the codes. They will issue out the balance of patches and trackables that were awarded to anyone who completed the original geotour. You will be asked to send your codes and a self addressed and stamped envelope to receive your trackable patch in return.
