La Stazione FNM
La stazione di Milano Cadorna è una stazione ferroviaria di Milano, capolinea meridionale delle linee ferroviarie per Saronno ed Asso. È la stazione principale del Gruppo FNM, situata in Piazzale Luigi Cadorna, nelle adiacenze del Castello Sforzesco e della Triennale di Milano.
Un poco di storia
L'edificio venne inaugurato nel 1879 dal sindaco Giulio Bellinzaghi. La struttura iniziale, in legno strutturale e dall'aspetto di chalet di montagna, fu demolita nel 1895 e sostituita con un edificio a tre piani.
Nel 1920 la stazione venne ampliata, ma fu distrutta nel 1943 dai bombardamenti della seconda guerra mondiale.
Venne ricostruita, con l'aspetto attuale, nell'immediato dopoguerra.
Fra il 1999 e il 2000, in previsione dell'attivazione del "Malpensa Express", la stazione e la piazza circostante sono state oggetto di interventi di riqualificazione sotto le direttive dell'architetto Gae Aulenti.
A tale architetto è stato poi dedicato uno dei posti più belli dell'area di Porta Nuova (con tanto di cache di Speedy).
Come è fatta?
La stazione dispone di dieci binari di testa per il servizio passeggeri, serviti da cinque marciapiedi dotati di pensiline. Il binario 1, utilizzato esclusivamente dal servizio Malpensa Express, si trova in posizione leggermente più arretrata rispetto agli altri. La stazione è inoltre dotata di due parchi ricovero mezzi.
La stazione è accessibile, oltre che dall'ingresso principale di piazzale Cadorna, anche da un ingresso secondario situato in via Leopardi.
Curiosità
Nel Piazzale è presente la famosa scultura con "Ago e Filo" che troverete nella cache a lei dedicata dal nostro mitico Anubi.

The Cadorna station is a railway station in Milan, the southern terminus of the railway lines to Saronno and Ace. It is the main station of the FNM Group, located in Piazzale Cadorna, adjacent to the Castello Sforzesco and the Triennale di Milano.
A little bit of history
The building was inaugurated in 1879 by Mayor Giulio Bellinzaghi. The initial structure, structural wood and looking the mountain chalet, was demolished in 1895 and replaced with a three-story building.
In 1920 the station was enlarged, but was destroyed in 1943 by the bombings of World War II.
It was rebuilt, with the current look, immediately after the war.
Between 1999 and 2000, in anticipation of the activation of the "Malpensa Express", the station and the surrounding square were the subject of redevelopment under the directives of the architect Gae Aulenti.
For this architect he was later dedicated one of the most beautiful places of the Porta Nuova (complete with Speedy cache).

The station has ten head tracks for passenger service, served by five sidewalks with shelters. The binary 1, used exclusively by the Malpensa Express service, is in slightly set back from the others. The station is also equipped with two parks admission means.
The station is available, as well as from the main entrance of Piazzale Cadorna, also from a secondary entrance located in via Leopardi.

In the Square is the famous sculpture "Needle and Thread" that you will find in the cache dedicated to her by our legendary Anubis.
