For my first Geocache hide, I wanted to place it near somewhere I hoped people would enjoy. The trip to this cache will take you along the Staten Island Greenbelt trails. My recomended entrance to the trails is by parking at High Rock Park at the end of Nevada Avenue. From here, you can take the blue or yelow trails on your way to the cache.
I first discovered this overlook as a teenager while working as a counselor at a nearby summer camp. The bench at the overlook was much nicer then. It had a tall wooden lattice backboard. But you are not here for the bench! You are here for the stunning view! On a clear day, you will be able to get a view of Raritan Bay and New Jersery. Please take your time to sit on the bench and feel free to take as many photos as you wish.
The cache is not located on this bench. You will need to do some light bushwacking off of the Greenbelt trails to make the find. I am hoping the find will be an easy one. Good luck!
