Geocache Description:

Travel to peaceful reservoirs, surround yourself in acres of trees, stop by tasty and artsy attractions, and take in some local history in Stark County, Ohio. Enjoy the hidden, and not so hidden, treasures at each location to earn a commemorative coin.

You are looking for a small lock and lock container. Opened in May of 1987, construction of Petros Lake began two years earlier to funnel rain water away from the new Timken Company factory on Faircrest Street. The 94-acre park was named for the family on whose land the lake was built. Since then, the Stark County Park District has built two covered picnic shelters, a sand volleyball court, a horseshoe court, a 1.2-mile hiking trail, and three nature trails. Primarily open grasslands, a habitat restoration project currently underway is transforming this former farm into a prairie. Walk along the trails to see prairie plants such as grey headed cone flowers and black-eyed susans and large hardwoods such as shagbark hickory, red oak, black oak, black cherry, and hawthorn.
