Accommodation:
Cottages: (please see if you cannot share with friends)
Geelhout & Melkhout: – 6 each
(Room 1: 2 singles/kingsize, Room 2: 1 single + bunk bed, 1 bed in lounge) We can put a bunk bed in the lounge to accommodate 7.
Tierhout & Olienhout – 8 each
(Room 1: 2 singles/kingsize, Room 2: 2 singles + bunk bed, 2 beds in lounge)
The cottages are fully-equipped, but bring your own bedding and towels. Each has a private braai with a grid.
Camping
No reserved places. Electricity, hot-water showers, shade, grass. Please bring an extension lead with.

Activities:
Hiking
There are two beautiful hiking trails. Please wear good shoes (flipflops will not do) and take enough water when planning on doing these hikes, it gets extremely hot in the area in summer.
Die Nek Hiking Trail
Die Nek is the hiking route that takes you to the top of the mountains and gives you breath-taking views of the valley and the bush along the way. The route will take about 2 hours to complete. It is interesting to realise that one uses the same route as different animal do, as can be seen in the bushbuck and bush pig tracks and discarded porcupine quills.
Waterfall Hiking Trail
The waterfall hike is a bit more difficult than the Die Nek hiking trail, although they follow the same trail. During the day the hikers walk through a variety of vegetation types and end up at the beautiful waterfalls where lunch is eaten and the brave can enjoy a shower under the falls. Most of the trail is shaded, but it remains a welcome experience when one realises that once you start going down hill, home is not too far away!The waterfall trail is a 12km trip in and out to a beautiful waterfall with stunning swimming pools. Please note that this is a whole day hike.
Please note that the waterfall hike is done as a guided tour and is only open once a month for a visitors group (we are lucky that we will be a closed group for the month of Feb).
We will be doing the Waterfall hike on the Saturday and will meet in the middle of the camping site at 06:30 if you are interested. Please bring your own first aid kit and shoe repair kit, snacks/lunch as well as at least 2L of water per person! Costs: R25pp. There are already caches on this route and there will be more available that could be claimed as a joint FTF for those that go on the hike. Just a word of caution, if you don't join us for that weekend on the hike, you might struggle to find a spot on the next group, as they are fully booked months in advance.
Swimming
Bring plenty of energy and your swim costumes, as there some very nice, big pools to cool down in. From the camping site, right to several pools on the trails and around the farm.
Birding
For the avid bird watchers among us, I have heard that there has been some rear sightings on the premises (African Finfoot as been spotted at the water holes) and you can download a bird list compiled by Clive Wright for the farm to see if you can identify some of our feather friends such as the Knysna Loerie.
