Geocache Description:

This cache is part of The City of Richmond GeoTour "Canada 150" series. Find all 20 caches, complete the passport, and receive a trackable Geo-coin (while quantities last). *Respect the flora & fauna. Please tread lightly!

This is a multi-cache, a short puzzle where you must visit several locations to decipher the final location of the geocache. There are no physical containers at the multi stages, instead, you get info from signs, plaques, objects, etc., at each of the locations. Here's how this works:

N 49 10.ABC
W 123 11.DEF

You will notice the letters ABC and DEF are in the place of numbers in the Northing and Westing of the above coordinates. You have to solve what numbers these six letters represent by visiting and learning about different locations at Terra Nova. Visitors to Terra Nova are transported into another place and time. First used by the Musqueam First Nation, the present character of Terra Nova has evolved from a natural environment of sloughs and tidal flats into a layered heritage landscape through the historical activities and events that have taken place here. This multi-cache will take you on a tour of Terra Nova, and should take less than an hour.

Work your way through Stages 1 thorugh 4 as below. Once you solve the final coordinates, you visit that location to search for the physical geocache. You can pin-point this location by entering the coordinates into a mapping tool like the Geocaching app or Google Maps, and confirm if you have the correct coordinates by visiting this online coordinate checker. Good luck!

STAGE 1
Parsons House: N49 10.471 W123 11.756
A = How many posts on the porch?

STAGE 2
Workbench: N49 10.491 W123 11.787
B = How many sheets of steel were used to make this artwork?

STAGE 3
Perigeal Raft Bench: N49 10.358 W123 11.860
C = How many planks were used to make this bench? Divide the second digit by the first digit.

STAGE 4
Terra Nova Adventure Play Environment: N49 10.410, W123 11.944
D = In the Age of Play Legend, the cow icon recommends what age+?
E = How many vertical wooden posts are on the north end of the zipline? Note: vertical doesn't have to be a straight 90-degrees up!

F = How high is the "Tree House"? F is the second digit of this number.

Have you finished visiting all the locations? You may confirm if the final coordinates you have solved are correct by visiting this online coordinate checker.

Thank you to GeoNavPro for creating this geocache for the Canada 150 Series. This cache is a small container hidden away from sight. Bring a pencil.

Please note geocaching guidelines: Geocache placements do NOT damage, deface or destroy public or private property. Caches are placed so that the surrounding environment, whether natural or human-made, is safe from intentional or unintentional harm. Property must not be damaged or altered to provide a hiding place, clue, or means of logging a find. The only exception is when caches are placed with permission by the property owner. The City of Richmond GeoTour caches are all placed or installed with permission from the City of Richmond.
