Geocache Description:

This multi cache requires you to visit the church at the published co-ordinates and locate the two benches that are situated along the hard public footpath winding through the church yard. On each bench is a plaque that will give you the information to substitute into the formulae below and reveal the location of the final cache hide where the church tower is still in view.

The Church of St Peter and St Paul dominates the village of Bleadon, a small parish that was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086. The church itself was built in the 14th century (dedicated in 1317), being restored and the chancel shortened in the mid 19th century. The tower, which has been dated to around 1390, contains five bells dating from 1711 and made by Edward Bilbie of the Bilbie family plus one from 1925 by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry. Be in the area on the hour and you'll hear the relevant number of chimes ring out. The church is a Grade I listed building.

The first bench ***please see my OM log of 11/Apr/19*** (if you approach from Coronation Road) is at the tower end of the church and holds the required information to complete the northings below. It is dedicated to Alice Pamela Hicks 10th May A9BC to DEth September 2011.

The seat containing the information for the westings is approximately halfway through the church yard along the footpath and was installed in memory of Malcolm Gaywood who died F0 May GHIJ and to commemorate the year K000.
