Das Wiesen-Schaumkraut (Cardamine pratensis) ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Gattung der Schaumkräuter (Cardamine) innerhalb der Familie der Kreuzblütengewächse (Brassicaceae). Das Verbreitungsgebiet umfasst weite Gebiete der Nordhalbkugel. Es dominiert mit seinen weiß bis zart violetten Blüten ab Ende April bis Mitte Mai häufig das Erscheinungsbild nährstoffreicher Feuchtwiesen. Die Blüten des Wiesen-Schaumkrautes sind sehr nektarreich und werden durch zahlreiche Insekten bestäubt. Als Standort werden frische bis feuchte Fett- und Feuchtwiesen sowie Bruch- und Auenwälder der collinen bis montanen Höhenstufe bis in Höhenlagen von etwa 1700 Meter bevorzugt.
Cardamine pratensis (cuckooflower or lady's smock), is a flowering plant in the family Brassicaceae, native throughout most of Europe and Western Asia. The specific name pratensis is Latin for "meadow." Its common name cuckooflower derives from the formation of the plant's flowers at around the same time as the arrival each spring of the first cuckoos in the British Isles. It is a food plant for the orange tip butterfly (Anthocharis cardamines) and makes a valuable addition to any garden which aims at attracting wildlife. It was once used as a substitute for watercress.
